I want a baby McLaren F1 LM. But I don't know if there are used Autobacs Garaiya's in Japan. One that I can modify to what you're seeing here.

Add some subtle industrial baubles, some brand decals, and that thing will look like it came out of Akira .

The F1 would would have probably looked at home in Akira completely unmodified. Truth be told; it's styling still stands up against the hypercars of today.

I think the closest thing you can get legally in the US is taking a used Elise and fitting a larger engine (Turbo K22 or maybe just a highly boosted original 2ZZ) and body kit.

The F1's styling gets better with age, if you ask me. I'm not just spitting out a tired cliche either, I really believe it.

I'm sure there's a company in Japan that will modify one. I'm not sure that Autobacs ever made more than a few of those though...
